Eden College Chhatra League Vice-President (VP) Jannatul Ferdousi
filed a case of attempted murder against 8 people including the party president
Jasmin Riva and general secretary Razia Sultana.
Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Syed Mostafa Reza Nur has
ordered the officer-in-charge of Lalbagh Police Station to investigate the
allegations in the case.
After accepting the statement of the plaintiff, the court
asked to submit the investigation report by October 24. The other accused in
the case are Nuzhat Faria Roksana, Ayesha Islam Mim, Noor Jahan, Ritu Akhtar,
Anika Tabasum Swarna and Kamrun Nahar Jyoti of College Chhatra League.
Jannatul Ferdousi, vice president of Eden College,
complained in the case that Anika Tabassum and others stole 20,000 taka and a
laptop from her room on the instructions of Jasmin and Razia on September 24.
At this time, her room was also vandalized by them.
The next day, in front of Ayesha Hall in Eden, Jasmin hit
her with a hockey stick to kill her. Later Jasmine along with Meem took her
veil and tried to strangle her to death. Later, the accused left thinking
Jannatul dead.
Later rescued and taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
After treatment went to Lalbagh police station yesterday to file a case.
However, she complained to the court today that the police did not take the
case.
President Tamanna Jasmin Riva and general secretary Razia
Sultana have slammed the organization's vice-president Jannatul Ferdousi for
recently speaking in the media about harassment of common female students.
Clashes also occurred between the two sides over these issues. Later the
organizational activities of Eden College Chhatra League were suspended. The
Central Chhatra League permanently expelled 16 people including the
vice-president.
